I had a mixed experience at the YMCA Vanderbilt. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to Times Square, making it easy to explore the city. Unfortunately, I faced some issues with service; staff were sometimes unhelpful. While my room was small, it was clean, and I appreciated having a fridge. However, the shared bathrooms on my floor could have been better maintained.

The room was small, but I found it clean with comfortable bedding. It came with essential amenities, like a fridge.

The location was superb, just a 15-minute walk to Times Square and close to public transport for easy access to the city.

I didn’t try the dining options extensively, but there were nearby shops and vendors offering a variety of affordable food.

My stay at the Vanderbilt YMCA was a mixed bag. The location in New York is fantastic, making it easy to explore popular attractions like Times Square and Grand Central Station. However, the room was quite small and the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired. For the price, it is decent, but don't expect luxury.

Rooms

The room I stayed in was larger than expected, but still quite small. the heating system is old and noisy, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep.

While some staff interactions were positive, I found the front desk workers to be rude. It was frustrating to deal with key card issues without adequate support from them.

The YMCA facilities were a mixed experience - I appreciated the gym and laundry options but didn't like the mandatory $10 charge for the gym even if you don't use it.

My stay at the Vanderbilt YMCA was a mix of positives and negatives. While I enjoyed the great location and friendly staff, the sanitation of shared bathrooms and the noise levels made my experience less than ideal. I'd say it’s a decent option for a short stay, but not without some significant drawbacks.

Rooms

The room was small but adequate for my needs, and I appreciated the comfortable bed. However, the sound insulation was poor, making it hard to get a good night's sleep.

The staff were friendly and assisted me with luggage storage, but when I encountered issues with the vending machine, the customer service response was frustratingly unhelpful.

The YMCA's location is fantastic, just a short walk from major attractions like Times Square, which made exploring the city easy and enjoyable.
Dining

With limited options available for breakfast, I found it practical but not ideal for a more substantial meal.

The shared bathrooms left a lot to be desired in cleanliness and accessibility, and the long wait times for the elevator were particularly annoying. Overall, the facilities were functional but not well-maintained.

I had a surprisingly good stay at the Vanderbilt YMCA! The location is unbeatable, just a short walk to Times Square, making it easy to explore the city. My room was small but functional, with a TV and mini fridge, and I didn't have any issues with the shared bathrooms. Although the staff wasn't the friendliest during check-in, they were fine overall. However, I did hear some noise from the street at night, which was a bit bothersome.

Rooms

My double room on the 7th floor was basic but had what I needed, including a mini fridge. The size felt cramped at times, and the beds weren't the greatest, but I slept fine.
Service

While the staff at the front desk was a bit rude at first, they eventually sorted out my check-in issue. Most of them were helpful once I approached nicely.

Location is perfect! Super close to all major attractions like Times Square and Grand Central. I was able to walk almost everywhere I wanted to go.
Dining

I found a great spot for breakfast just down the street! The nearby food options were decent, but it was more of a hassle to cook anything myself.
Facilities

The shared bathrooms were cleaner than I expected, and I liked the daily towel service. I didn't use the gym, but I could see it might be a good option for others.

My stay at the YMCA Vanderbilt in NYC was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from Times Square, which made exploring the city a breeze. However, I found the staff to be quite rude, which impacted my initial experience. The rooms were small, just like expected, but they did have good heating and fans. Overall, while the location is a major plus, the service and room conditions could use some improvement.

Rooms

The room was extremely small, reminiscent of my student days abroad. less space to manage my suitcase. However, it was functional and had good heating, which was a plus, even if the shared bathrooms could feel a bit cramped.
Service
5.0
I had a frustrating encounter with the front desk staff who seemed unhelpful and dismissive. It took quite a bit of arguing just to get my room key sorted, which was disappointing given my expectations for basic service.
Location

The YMCA's location is perfect. just a 15-minute walk to Times Square and conveniently close to subways. It's surrounded by plenty of good restaurants, making it a great base for exploring NYC.
Dining

While the dining options within the YMCA weren't practical, there were great local spots nearby. I enjoyed grabbing freshly brewed coffee and snacks from street vendors in the area, enhancing my stay.
Facilities

The shared facilities were clean enough, with daily towel service. but I still found the limited number of restrooms on each floor a bit of a challenge given the small size of my room.
